Will Fitbit make a tape device

Microsoft Volume 2 is no longer listed in the Microsoft Store, and no successor is planned for 2016

In addition to the Lumia range, another Microsoft product will apparently be discontinued this year, namely the Microsoft Band. As already reported, the Redmond-based group should no longer produce the surprisingly successful wearable, at least no successor is planned for 2016.

Now the device is also no longer available in the Microsoft Store, through which it was previously sold in the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Australia. The Microsoft Volume 2 page is still active, but if you click on the “Buy now” link, it will take you back to the main page. This means that Microsoft Band 2 has the same fate as the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL in Germany, which has been sold out in the Microsoft Store for some time.

In a statement to ZDNet, Microsoft announced that the stock had been sold and that there were no plans to release another tape device this year. Microsoft Volume 2 will continue to be supported and investments will continue to be made in the Microsoft Health platform, which is open to hardware and app partners across Windows, iOS and Android devices.

Microsoft Volume 2 is no longer offered in the respective countries via the Microsoft Store, but can still be used in this country. In the smallest size, it is available from 139.99 pounds, the equivalent of just under 160 euros.
