The new A series from Samsung: Galaxy A52 (5G) & A72

Technical data of the new A models

Smartphones 2021: These include devices from Apple, HUAWEI, Oppo, Xiaomi and Samsung. We'll now clarify whether Samsung's new Galaxy A series can technically keep up with the front runners or whether it will be trumped by the competition. So much in advance: The Samsung Galaxy A52 and the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G only differ in terms of their processor and the refresh rate.

Design & display

The Galaxy A52 (5G), with its bigger brother - the Galaxy A72 - is one of Samsung's mid-range smartphones of the year 2021. Thanks to the sharp Infinity-O display with Super AMOLED technology, the phones offer high contrast and rich colors. In addition, the smartphones of the new A-series have been given a new design: Due to the minimal bezels and rounded edges, the devices look very modern. The camera module on the back of the cell phones has been redesigned. The lenses are still arranged side by side, but the camera block is no longer highlighted in color. This makes the design look even more minimalistic overall.

The Galaxy A52 (5G) has a screen size of 6.5 inches, while the Galaxy A72 measures 6.7 inches. All three mobile phone displays have a full HD + resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The adaptive refresh rate of the Galaxy A52 and A72 is 90 Hertz, while the 5G version of the Galaxy A52 can boast a maximum frequency of 120 Hertz.
