Roxette drummer Pelle Alsing died on December 20th at the age of just 60. It is not yet known what the musician died of. Bandmate, guitarist and singer Per Gessle shared the sad message with the world via the band's Twitter account.

"It fills me with sadness to inform you that our beloved Pelle Alsing has passed away," says the official statement. “Pelle wasn't just a great and resourceful drummer who helped us get the band sound from day one. He was the best friend one could have dreamed of. ”Per Gessle called him a lovable and generous man whose big heart beat for everyone.

Gessle remembered Alsing's big smile that he always wore on his lips. He was the one who supported him the most when he had doubts. "How much we will miss and can hardly be put into words. My thoughts are with his wife, family and friends, ”concluded Gessle.

From the 1980s on, Pelle Alsing sat on drums for Roxette. Until the 2010s he performed with them both at concerts and in the studio. In addition to Roxette, he was also a member of the Swedish pop band Ratata.
